gratitude / growth moment 002
growth— the theme for this week is resilience. I found some of my old notebooks from school in which I had saved some important items from our segment on “high performing teams”. Performance and mindfulness go hand in hand, so what better way to build healthy and productive teams than by working on resilience!
As I reviewed these old pages I re-discovered a whole bunch of the psychology that have helps to manage stress. So for the week ahead I’m going to redeploy some of the resilience-building ideas that I used as a mainstay back in those crazy days. Most of it has to do with effective time management, or more specifically, managing the “knowing-doing” gap. I’m really trying to cut or limit anything that causes a drain on peak productivity (which for me occurs in the early part of my day)
gratitude— I have been taking very long walks in the morning before the city wakes up, listening to podcasts by tech entrepreneurs and just letting my day start with some much needed fresh air and new ideas. I have a significantly better day when I do this. I get to smell the fresh summer air, see my dog all happy and tired from the effort, expose myself to great thinkers/doers, and get a little fasted cardio completed before the day gets going. I feel a deeper connection with my family and loved ones when I start the day like this and so it’s worth the extra early wake up.
