What have you eaten?

What have you eaten?

These words aren’t my own, but they finally describe so perfectly the side effect of success— complacency.

An alligator is so ferociuous it can kill a Lion, but I can kill an alligator with my bare hands.

When you want to kill an alligator, you will it right after it eats. Directly after it eats, it gets satisfied and goes into a paralyzed state.

Am I paralyzed?

I’ve had a little success, I’ve done what no one in my family has done, and now I’m good?

Am I not HUNGRY anymore?

What have I eaten that has put my to sleep, lulled by the satisfaction.

What have I accomplished that has made me feel so full?

My friend shared this with me earlier this week. I’m thrilled to hear how much he’s pushing through those plateaus and getting out of his comfort zone with some entirely new learnings, exploring his mental health, and working to build passive income. It was a great reminder of just how much I do fear stagnation and loss of appetite. But this narrative isn’t complete without a reverent pause and sense of gratitude for the very items that make it possible to grind each day.

Stay hungry. Even hunger is something worthy of gratitude.
